A half-day session on organic tree fruit production and issues has become a standard feature of the largest tree fruit meeting in the state. In 2008, topics included:

Current trends in organic tree fruit production (D. Granatstein and E. Kirby, WSU)

Will the organic apple gamble pay off? (Dr. D. O'Rourke, Belrose Consulting)

Update on ISHS Organic Fruit Symposium, Vignola, Italy, and inital market conditions for the 2008 crop (H. Ostenson, Stemilt Growers)

Information gaps and research needs for Washington organic tree fruit (D. Craver and D. Granatstein). This was an audience interactive session using the Turning Point technology. About 170 people provided input on a series of questions regarding organic tree fruit.

WSDA-OFP and OMRI: contrasts and collaboration (M. McEvoy, WSDA; Dave DeCou, OMRI)

Disruption of biological control in organic orchards (Dr. E. Beers, WSU)
